Long time coming

It's been a really long time since I put any photos here--sorry about that. This is what William has been up to in the last couple of months.

Sweet William sleeping in Grandma's arms!

back again

William was baptized on Sunday by Bishop Jerry Lamb at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Kenwood, California. He wore the christening gown that his great-grandmother had made for his father when his father was baptized back in 1961. Pictures will be forthcoming!

I have to say that, although I have gone through the baptismal liturgy loads of times, both as a member of the congregation and as a liturgical leader, I never heard the promises and charges to parents and godparents in the same way as I did on Sunday. It is a really big deal to promise to raise a child in the Christian faith--I'm still busy trying to live in the Christian faith myself, let alone trying to take that on for my son! But we make these promises and we do our best, and I suppose that is what I am going to do.

Anyway, more pictures, some from the baptism, to come soon!

Mommy Brain

Oops--totally forgot that the vital statistics weren't included!

William Hawley Monnot was born on April 16th, 2005 at 1:46 AM. Labor lasted about 32 hours or something--from the time my water broke on Thursday at 5:00 PM. Long story.

He was delivered the regular way at St. Helena Hospital, 9 pounds 2 ounces, 21 1/2 inches long. Big kid. And very sweet and very mellow personality so far. Hoping that will continue!
